Training for New and Returning Mentors is Thursday, October 27. Details here.

As we start our 11th year, the Riverwood SAIL (Seniors Achieving In Life) Program is seeking both returning and new adult volunteers to assist Riverwood seniors with the often-challenging process of selecting, applying to, and financing two-year and four-year colleges as well as special career related training programs.  Mentors are asked to work with SAIL students on a weekly basis in the upcoming months at mutually convenient times. Mentor responsibilities include helping seniors complete career assessments, required testing, admissions applications, and documentation (transcripts, test scores, recommendations), scholarship applications, and FAFSA.

A training session will be held on Thursday, October 27 at 10:00 AM in the Riverwood Media Center for mentors. Both new and returning volunteers are encouraged to attend, meet Riverwood Counselors, enjoy coffee and donuts, and learn more about SAIL. We will also be providing a virtual Teams link for the training session. A special thanks goes out to Sandy Springs Education Force for providing great volunteers and continued financial support. We will also be providing a virtual Teams link for the training session. Please contact Roxie Garber ( to RSVP and obtain additional information.
