FCS Seeks Public Feedback on American Rescue Plan Spending
Fulton County Schools is requesting public feedback as it develops its plan for funds received through the American Rescue Plan (ARP).
The third COVID-19 relief bill is an unprecedented $1.9 trillion federal package of assistance measures, including $168 million allocated to the district to help address the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on FCS students. The district has budgeted 68% of the funds for academic programming, with over half the funds going to literacy.
Public involvement provides a critical perspective for making decisions and we encourage the public to participate in the process. The district has set up a special email for feedback and asks the public to consider the following:
- Provide your assessment of the top 2-3 issues currently facing students and schools in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
- What strategies, actions, or promising practices were most effective in supporting student needs in response to the COVID-19 pandemic?
- How can Fulton County Schools better support students, families, staff, and schools as we continue in-person instruction and continuity of services?
Fulton County Schools will take this feedback from students, families, educators, and community members into account as it develops plans for the use of these ARP funds.
Please provide input via email to ARP_ESSER@fultonschools.org by June 18, 2021.
