Virtual Parent Meetings and other Updates

August 5, 2020

Greetings Centennial Families,

I hope this message finds you all safe and healthy. Fulton County teachers and staff returned to school buildings Monday, August 3rd. Here at Centennial, we are wearing masks and practicing social distancing as we prepare for the start of school. Although we will begin the year virtually, it has not stopped the excitement we have for the start of school on August 17th.

Centennial is hosting several virtual parent meetings to share important information with you before we start the year. The meetings will be interactive, so you will have an opportunity to ask questions. Additionally, if you are unable to attend the scheduled meetings, they will be recorded and posted for you to view at your convenience.

Please click the links below to access the live event.

Student Schedules

Families, this is a friendly reminder that student schedules will be available to view via Infinite Campus on Friday, August 7th by 4:00 pm. If you do not have access to Infinite Campus enter your email address in the following link to receive parent portal access information (Infinite Campus Sign Up). Instructions on how to access student schedules in Infinite Campus are attached to this email.

The counselors have been working with administration to develop a master schedule based upon course requests, new enrollments and withdrawals. Please click the following link if you find any errors on your schedule https://tinyurl.com/FinalScheduleChange.

Reasons for Schedule Change Requests:

  • I am a SENIOR and am missing a course that I need to meet graduation requirements.
  • I am missing a core academic class:  MATH, SOCIAL STUDIES, ENGLISH, OR SCIENCE.
  • I am scheduled for a class that I already passed.

Microsoft TEAMS for Parents

Fulton County Schools has created a series of Universal Remote Learning training videos for parents that include an introduction to Microsoft TEAMS for parents, and a Microsoft Overview. To access these videos click here https://www.fultonschools.org/Page/19643.

Internet Hot Spots

Families, home internet hotspots are available compliments of Fulton County Schools by request. If you would like to request an internet hot spot for your home, please contact the IT hotline at 470-254-2300.

Student Devices

For students new to Centennial or students who do not currently have a Fulton County issued device, Centennial will distribute devices the week of August 10th. Please sign up for a designated device pick-up time using this link Sign Up. The student must be present to receive the device and a photo ID (student or parent) is required during pick up. If you are experiencing issues with your current device, please contact the IT hotline at 470-254-2300.

Our teachers have been engaged in hours of professional learning specific to delivering high-quality and engaging instruction in virtual environments.  We are excited to show-off all that we have learned, and we are looking forward to starting the school year.
