PSAT Device Requirements

Attention 9th-10th graders!

  • You are scheduled to take the Digital PSAT on Thursday, October 12th at Alpharetta HS!
  • To be able to access the PSAT, you need to ensure that you have an FCS-issued device. 
    • If you do not, it is imperative that you pick up your FCS device from the Media Center before Wednesday, September 27, 2023 during your lunch period.

Attention 11th graders!

  • You are scheduled to take the Digital PSAT on Friday, October 13th at Alpharetta HS!
  • To be able to access the PSAT, you need to ensure that you have an FCS-issued device.

  1. PSAT Question of the Day
    1. Monday, September 11th – Friday, October 6th.
    2. Posted in Cafeteria and on all TV monitors throughout the building.
    3. QR code for students to submit answers.
    4. One winner will be selected each day at 4pm.
    5. Winner sent to Carolyn Vezeau/Mike Scheifflee to announce the next morning.
    6. Reward will be delivered to student during 7th period.
    7. Full PSAT QOD PPT will be posted on Friday, October 6, 2023 by 4:000pm.
    8. Students may use this to help prepare for the PSAT.

        • Click HERE to download Bluebook on your device. You can download on your personal device. If it does not already show on your FCS device, please visit the Technology Specialist in the media center.

FAQs
Please find the answers to many of the commonly asked questions below. If you still have a question, please reach out to Andrew Bolin, PSAT Testing Administrator.

Q: Do I need to sign my child up to take the PSAT?
A: No, all enrolled students in grades 9-11 will participate in the PSAT, if they choose.
 
Q: Do I need to notify you if my child is not going to take the PSAT?
A: No, there is no need to notify the PSAT coordinator if your child will not be taking the PSAT
 
Q: Is this test mandatory?
A: No, the PSAT is a practice assessment for the SAT and is not required. If you choose for your child not to participate, you may use the following link to have your student prepare for the SAT with Khan Academy.
 
Q: Will there be early dismissal?
A: No. Please check the AHS Website for the altered bell schedule that will be used on test days. After testing is complete, students are expected to report to their classes as directed. 
 
Q: Will the buses be providing transportation?
A: Yes, students can ride the bus at their normal operation times in the morning and in the afternoon on both days.
 
Q: Will lunch be provided?
A: Yes, students will attend lunch based on their schedule and at the time listed on the altered bell schedule.

Q: What time should my student report to school?
A: All students should plan to arrive on campus by 8 a.m. and report to their testing room by 8:10am. 
 
Q: Where is my student testing?
A: All students/parents will receive an email informing them of their student’s testing location. Please be sure to take a snapshot of the room number, as this will probably be different from your child’s regular advisement room.

Q: What should my student bring for testing?
A: Students must bring their FCS-issued device with the Bluebook app already installed. Additionally, students should plan to bring two #2 pencils. Students may NOT bring their own calculator as the digital platform has a calculator built in.

Q: Are there any student guides that I can use to help become familiar with the PSAT?
A: Yes!
