June 30, 2020

Dear WBMS Parents and Guardians,

Yesterday Superintendent Looney announced that Fulton County Schools plans to return to school face-to-face on August 17, 2020.  However, our county’s plan is contingent on the department of public health’s advice related to the future health and safety conditions related to our county’s COVID-19 numbers and thus could change. Additionally, the county has created a first semester individual remote option. For more information on that option and registration details, please use this link: FCS Virtual Learning Opportunities If your questions regarding the Individual Remote Learning option are not answered through the county’s site, please send them to IndividualRemoteMS@fultonschools.org

Please know the Fulton County Schools team is working diligently to create clear action plans for our return to school.  As a county, we will improve our bus safety practices, enhance our daily cleaning, install physical barriers in key locations, update practices in our clinic, restrict visitors, and limit mass gatherings on our campuses. Additionally, the WBMS administrative team will customize the county’s recommendations based on our specific facility keeping the safety of our students, staff, and community at the forefront of our decision-making.

We are a strong community and can support one another’s health and well-being by working together so our students and staff can safely return to WBMS. Let us unite to stop the spread of the virus by wearing our masks, washing our hands, and practicing social distancing.

Fulton County Schools will host a series of return to school briefings during the month of July on topics such as health and safety, athletics, nutrition, the individual remote option for middle school, and technology. Please monitor the FCS website for more information as these meetings begin tomorrow. Many of you have sent me emails with individual questions regarding next year and your student; please be patient as respond.  I will also send updates as I receive information from our district so you can stay current with the latest information. Stay well, Jaguars! We are all in this together!
