The Georgia Association of School Nurses (GASN) recently named Fulton County Schools Cluster Nurse, TracyLynn Wagner RN of the Year.

A 20-year FCS Student Health Services employee, Wagner has worked in a number of health-related roles. In her current position as Alpharetta cluster nurse, she oversees clinics at five schools, serving as a resource for each school's clinic assistants, administration, teachers and students. She is a liaison between parents whose students have health concerns and their schools. Wagner teaches health-related training classes and responds to emergencies.

"Ms. Wagner understands the link between academic success and the health status of students," said Lynne Meadows, Wagner's supervisor and the director of District Health Services. "Her professionalism and commitment to ensure students are in school, safe and ready to learn makes her an exceptional school nurse. She is an incredible asset to Fulton County Schools and certainly represents the absolute best of school nursing."

In addition to her cluster nurse role, Wagner has other responsibilities. She is the department's data manager, serves on the immunization task force for the district, coordinates mandatory student health screenings and serves as data manager for the Student Health Services department. Wagner also provided the district's earliest guidelines on isolation rooms during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The GASN awarded Wagner the 2022 School Nurse RN of the Year award at the GASN annual conference on July 1 in Atlanta.

She is a true servant-leader, giving of her time, talent and skills professionally and personally to make the lives of others better."
