  • Board of Education to Meet July 22

    FCS Board of Education Logo The Fulton County Board of Education will meet Thursday, July 22, at the South Learning Center, 4025 Flat Shoals Road in Union City. Executive session begins at 4:30 p.m. Recognitions and Public Comment is at 6 with the action meeting following. Topics up for approval are on BoardDocs. Meetings are streamed live on this page.     The Fulton County Board of Education has tentatively adopted a millage rate which will require an increase in property taxes by 3.12 percent.


    All concerned citizens are invited to the public hearing on this tax increase to be held at South Learning Center, 4025 Flat Shoals Road, Union City, Georgia on July 22, 2021 at 6:00 p.m.


    Time and place of additional public hearings on this tax increase is at North Learning Center, 450 Northridge Parkway, Sandy Springs, Georgia on August 12, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.


    This tentative increase will result in a millage rate of 17.590 mills, an increase of 0.533 mills. Without this tentative tax increase, the millage rate will be no more than 17.057 mills. The proposed tax decrease for a home with a fair market value of $300,000 is approximately $24.31 and the proposed tax decrease for non-homestead property with a fair market value of $300,000 is approximately $24.72.


    The proposed millage rate of 17.59 is a reduction to our current millage rate of 17.796.
