Leadership Selection at Fulton County Schools


To be serious about impacting the lives of our students in a meaningful way, we must have world-class leaders leading every school community across the district.  Fulton's Principal and Assistant Principal selection processes are designed to assess each potential new leader's relevant work experience, knowledge, and leadership capability in essential competencies in order to select candidates most likely to be successful in their new role.

During our selection processes, candidates engage with a variety of Fulton administrative leaders (Area Superintendents, Area Executive Directors, Human Resource Staffing Directors) and parents, community members, and teachers in order to give each candidate the opportunity to interview with all stakeholders. Successful candidates advance to a managed talent pool from which matches with current vacancies take place.

Each selection process phase consists of corresponding selection tools to specifically assess and evaluate the candidates' match to the district's Leadership Essentials framework and aligned school leader competencies
