    Wear Blue

    Child Abuse Prevention Month

April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month and FCS recognizes the vital link between a happy childhood and a promising future for all children. This year's theme, "Building a Hopeful Future, Together," emphasizes the importance of fostering a caring and supportive atmosphere for children and families. By working together, we can empower families and stop child abuse. For more information, visit

Districtwide awareness day is on APRIL 26, and we are asking everyone to wear blue to help raise awareness for Child Abuse Prevention.

New "Level Up Fulton" Cohort Beginning in the Fall

Get ready, the next "Level Up Fulton" cohort is beginning this fall. The inaugural cohort, hosted by the Professional Learning and Leadership Development Department, launched last month with about 200 employees (both school and district-based) from various divisions participating in level one of the three-tiered program.

In the first session, participants explored their individual strengths, set goals, and selected courses for personal growth aligned to the district's core values. Over the year, participants will have opportunities to practice and apply skills in their jobs gained from their self-selected courses and earn potential incentives upon completion.

Visit the FCS Level Up Fulton Webpage link to view the program information video and access the application. Application window will close on May 24. Spaces are limited, so register now for classes this fall!

Check out pictures from the first session, called ‘Leveraging Our Strengths as Growth-Minded Learners.’

    From Student to Staff!

Speaking of FCS graduations, check out Ms. Kiara Pierre, who transitioned from an FCS student to an FCS employee!

    Kiara Monae Pierre

Ms. Kiara Monae Pierre, a former student of Sandtown Middle School and North Springs High School, is currently the Records Clerk and College and Career coordinator at Tri-Cities High School.

After working for FCS for one year, she expresses that her love for the students and the joy they bring to her life inspires her every day. Her responsibilities include assisting students with college applications, scholarships, FAFSA applications, scheduling college visits and managing records.

Ms. Pierre was motivated to become an employee at FCS by the dedicated support system in place for students to ensure their success. She wanted to make a positive impact on young lives, just as others had done for her.

Her favorite subject is English, and her favorite teacher was Mr. Patterson at North Springs High School. In her free time, she enjoys reading, listening to music, and spending time with her family. Her favorite quote is, "Always be around people that are good for your soul."

    SHOUT, Shout it all out!

Paraprofessional Appreciation Day was on April 3rd. We want to give a shout-out to all our amazing paraprofessionals who help our teachers, provide instructional support, and offer non-instructional services to our students so they can achieve their full potential. We appreciate you and all you contribute to the school community. Keep up the great work!

We love featuring our favorite FCS cafeteria staff, custodians, bus drivers, front office personnel, teachers, co-workers, department staff or a favorite FCS friend to give them the spotlight they deserve. Who do you want to celebrate? Send your submissions to
