Cambridge BRIDGE to Service Day
-
It's the most wonderful time of the year! I’m talking about the upcoming RACK (Random Acts of Cambridge Kindness) Week! Due to last year’s overwhelmingly positive response, we will have our second annual Cambridge BRIDGE to Service Day on February 15th as part of RACK week. Last year, hundreds of students GENEROUSLY participated in community service projects on campus. Students were INVOLVED and ENGAGED in making blankets for homeless shelters, creating first aid kits for first responders to distribute, grounds beautification, creating kindness rocks for our courtyard, and writing letters to soldiers deployed overseas (just to name a few!).
Cambridge Clubs, Teams, and Organizations have been requested to submit their activity so that we can communicate service options to all our students in advance of this year’s event. On BRIDGE to Service Day, we will run a half-day of school (including lunch), then RESPECTFULLY and BRAVELY participate in community service activities the rest of the day. We will run two afternoon sessions; each session will be 45 minutes long (1:45 - 2:30 pm and 2:45 - 3:30 pm).
Our PTSA will also be hosting service activities in the cafeteria! This is an amazing day where we all come together as a building and community to serve others. Over the next month, we will be asking for donations for service activities and asking for volunteers who may want to help with community service. If you have a great idea for BRIDGE to Service Day, please have your child reach out to their club, sport or organization sponsor. If they are not part of a club, reach out to me, and we will see if we can get that activity added to the options available for our students. At Cambridge, we are DETERMINED to be the BRIDGE to help others. Please consider supporting us on Cambridge BRIDGE to Service Day 2023!
