At the High School level, the Georgia Milestones Assessment System consists of End-of-Course (EOC) exams tied to four courses:
Algebra 1
American/11th Grade Literature
Biology
U.S. History
Students enrolled in on-level, honors, and/or accelerated sections of the above courses will complete the corresponding EOC exam for that course.
Students enrolled in Advanced Placement or Dual Enrollment sections of Biology and U.S. History are generally exempt from the EOC requirement. However, students enrolled in AP Lang or DE American Literature will take the EOC exam for that course.
For these courses, the EOC is worth 20% of the overall course grade.
Comprehensive Exams are teacher-generated, cumulative exams given at the end of each semester.
In courses that have a state End-of-Course exam, the EOC constitutes the "Final Exam" for that course - there is not an additional teacher-generated Final Exam.
