Riverwood International Charter School construction:
Construction continues on the new Riverwood International Charter School with work underway on the physical education/health and performing arts areas, tennis courts, practice fields, and additional parking. Funded by the one-penny education sales tax, ESPLOST, the school’s replacement was separated into three phases – Phase I, which opened in 2017, produced a 112,500-square-foot addition with 30 classrooms and a newly constructed baseball field. Phase II was completed in 2019 and included the buildout of the main classroom portion of the new school, including the CTAE classrooms, cafeteria and the media center. Phase III, which is the final stage of construction, began in 2020 and is expected to finish in 2022.
