Curriculum Night 2021

How do I get the most out of Curriculum Night?

  • Trying to summarize a year’s worth of learning into a few minutes is an impossible task, so it may help to think of tonight as a starting point for further conversations with your student and his or her teachers. To help prepare for curriculum night, consider the following:

Register for Parent Portal. This tool will allow you to quickly see your student's grades, attendance, and more! Visit fultonschools.org/infinitecampus for more information and how to register.

Plan the night. All presentations will be pre-recorded and accessible from teachers' websites. You can use the staff page to find your student's teachers and visit their websites, view the presentations, read their FAQs, or reach out with specific questions. Teachers also keep these websites updated throughout the year with information about the course and upcoming assignments or deadlines.

Extend the conversation. We know that sometimes high school students may not share what they are learning and doing in class or how they are feeling about class. Our teachers have worked hard to capture the most important information into their presentations, but there is always more things could be covered.

Below are a few questions that might help extend what you have learned from Curriculum Night and springboard further discussion between you, your student, and your student’s teachers as we all partner in creating opportunities for excellence at AHS.

    • Which class do you most look forward to each day? What about that class makes you excited?
    • Is there a class you worry about? What is one way that I can help you feel confident about that class?
    • What is something in one of your classes that you find surprising or unexpected?
    • Why is it surprising/unexpected?Would you show me something you learned or did today in one of your classes?

How can I find out more about how my student is doing?

  • Our teachers have worked hard to capture the most important information into their presentations, but there is always more things could be covered.

Here are a few ways to find out more information:

Log in to Parent Portal or download the app to your phone to check grades or attendance for your student’s classes.

Update your contact information with Alpharetta High School. Our school registrar can assist with this process.

Email your student’s teacher with specific questions. We want to partner with you to help your student learn and grow, and connecting via email can be the first step in furthering this partnership.
