Wiley (Senior, Simon Link)  is a young person of small ambition and even smaller confidence. Happy to lay around all day with his loyal Dog (freshman Sam Soltero), Wiley argues when his mother (senior Karli Williams) tells him to venture deeper into the swamp to collect firewood. Hidden in the depths of the swamp is the notorious Hairy Man (junior Douglas Flannigan), a fearful giant who feasts on humans! Wiley’s mother maintains that he must face and overcome his fear, and tries to prepare him for their meeting through the study and use of conjuring.

The “Chorus” in the show acts as a metaphor for magic in the play.  The chorus works together as an ensemble to create anything that is conjured up by Mama, Wiley or the Hairy Man.  They become spirits, noises, snow storms, and various swamp creatures such as snakes and crocodiles, just to name a few magical creations.

    The chorus is played by:

    Senior, Jasmine Botts

    Senior, Aryanna Finch

    Senior, Amari Johnson

    Senior, Quavion Jones

    Sophomore, Sierra Peterson

    Freshman, Alesha Quraishi

    Senior, Macey Smith

    Senior, Thomas Strickland
