Counseling Mission Statement

  • The mission of the Counseling Department is to build a comprehensive developmental counseling program addressing the academic, career, and personal/social development of all students. Programs developed by the Counseling Department will be driven by the unique ethnic, cultural, and economic diversity of the entire student population with the end goal of removing barriers to student learning and encouraging achievement at the highest level for each student. Through a partnership with students, educators, parents, and the community, the  Counseling Department will prepare students academically and socially to be productive members and leaders of society.

  • According to the research, as many as one in six U.S. children has a treatable mental health disorder, such as depression, anxiety or ADHD.  With mental health issues on the rise for our students, it is important that our community talk openly about mental health disorders and that we provide opportunities for our students to receive treatment.  It is for this reason that we are very excited to share that Fulton County Schools has partnered with Family Ties to offer confidential mental health treatment conveniently located at HFE.  Please see the attached flyer for additional information.   Please contact Anna Aronowitz (aronowitza@fultonschools.org) or Sherita Shelton (sshelton@familytiesinc.com) with any questions.
