    This year I am partnering with the Counseling Department to continue to bring mental health awareness to our students and our community 🙂
     
    Each month I will create book displays and encourage students to visit the media center to participate in makerspace activities and book chats.  
     
    August: Friendship Month 
    • Makerspace Activity - Friendship Bracelets
    • Book Chat - Students can stop by the media center to make friends and chat about their favorite book. 
      Date - August 31st during lunch
     
    September: Suicide Prevention Month  
    • Makerspace Activity - Create a bookmark using a 3D pen
    • Book Chat - Date TBD
     
    October: Bullying Prevention Month 
    • Makerspace Activity - take part in a Smile Post-It wall by sharing why you smile or to get ideas on reasons to smile.

    November: Career Awareness Month 
    • Makerspace Activity - Have a vision? Make a Vision Board for your future

    December: Destress December 
    • Makerspace Activity - Make a stress ball, Yoga, Just Dance in the media center. Dates for each activity to be determined

     January: Growth Mindset 
    • Makerspace Activity - Celebrate World Logic Day with a variety of puzzles, solve it and win a prize!

    February: Diversity & Inclusion
    • Makerspace Activity - Create a beautiful Valentine's day card for a family member, or your favorite teacher.

    March: Developmental Disabilities Month 
    • Makerspace Activity - MOID Student Mixer, introduce yourself & make a new friend

    April: Stress Awareness Month 
    • Makerspace Activity - Take part in a meditation session, let your stress melt away as we teach you simple breathing techniques

    May: Mental Health Awareness Month
    • Makerspace Activity - Stop by the media center for a brain break, relaxing music and coloring sheets will be available

Media Center Mission Statement

  • The Fulton County Schools Media and Educational Technology department promotes academic excellence by empowering student and staff to be effective, discriminating users of ideas and information. Additionally, Fulton County Schools Media and Educational Technology Instructors (METIs) assist instructional staff in using technology effectively for differentiating instruction and providing rigorous, relevant, and engaging learning experiences for all students. The Fulton County Schools Media and Educational Technology department facilitates the development of balanced and relevant collections of digital and print resources for teacher and student use. Digital resources are provided for all students that are accessible anytime, anywhere, on any web-enabled computer, laptop, or mobile device.

    9:15 am - 3:30 pm 

     

    Technician Hours

    Students who need assistance with their device 

    9am - 10am 

    12pm - 1 pm 

     

    All students must visit the media center with a pass from their teacher.
