Counseling Mission Statement

  • The mission of the Counseling Department is to build a comprehensive developmental counseling program addressing the academic, career, and personal/social development of all students. Programs developed by the Counseling Department will be driven by the unique ethnic, cultural, and economic diversity of the entire student population with the end goal of removing barriers to student learning and encouraging achievement at the highest level for each student. Through a partnership with students, educators, parents, and the community, the  Counseling Department will prepare students academically and socially to be productive members and leaders of society.

Jenise Greene- This is my 8th year as a school counselor and 21st year as an educator.  I graduated with my Bachelor’s from Morris Brown College in Early Childhood Education. I have a Masters in Professional Counseling from Argosy University.  Knowing my passion for working with students, I then went to West Georgia to add on a certification in School Counseling.  I am also a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Certified Anger Management Specialist.  I enjoy shopping at my favorite store Ross, spending time with family, trying new restaurants and helping others. I am looking forward to an awesome year!

Anne Woodworth- I am so excited to be joining Cogburn Woods this year!  This is my 11th year as a school counselor and my first year at Cogburn Woods.  I graduated with my Bachelor’s from Emory University in Religion and African Studies. I have a Masters in School Counseling from Mercer University and an Ed.S. in School Counseling and Supervision from Valdosta State University.  Originally from South Carolina, I moved to the Atlanta area for college and loved it so much that I never left!  When I’m not at Cogburn Woods, I enjoy reading, trying new restaurants, being outside, and playing with my daughters. I am in the building on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday of each week.  I am looking forward to an amazing year!
