• Physical Education

    Physical Education at CCES is a critical part of the curriculum.  Research shows that regular phys ed classes improve academic performance.  P. E. is responsible for helping students learn the value of activity for health, recreation, social interaction and much more.

    3 Goals of Physical education:

    1. Teach body movement and fundamental sport skills. Teaching fundamental movements and sports creates a sense of confidence when children are encourage to be active for a lifetime,
    2. Promote physical fitness as fun. Quality instruction helps children develop habits and routines to maintain a healthy lifestyle.  The more that young students consider physical fitness a natural part of their day, the more likely they will be engaged in fitness as they age.
    3. Develop teamwork, sportsmanship, and cooperation. PE allows children to experience healthy social interactions, teaching cooperation through group activities, and encouraging teamwork through identification as one part of a team.  Social skills develop confidence contributing to academic performance and good mental health.
