    Principal

    Mr. Kelly Parker began his service at Taylor Road MS as an Assistant Principal in 2009; he was named Principal in June 2018. He earned his undergraduate degree at the University of South Dakota and his Masters of Education in English at Kennesaw State University. Mr. Parker has been with Fulton County Schools since 1999. Before coming to Fulton, Mr. Parker began his teaching career in South Dakota at Vermillion HS teaching English and coaching debate. He moved to Roosevelt HS in Sioux Falls, SD -- teaching language arts and also directing the debate program in 1995. He moved to Georgia and began the debate program at Centennial HS in Roswell.  After thirteen years as a debate coach and teacher, he was named Assistant Principal at Chattahoochee High School.     Assistant Principal -- 6th Grade

    Ron Huggins Head Shot Mr. Ronald Huggins has been a member of the Taylor Road Middle School family as an eighth grade history teacher and Administrative Assistant since 2014.  Prior to joining the staff at Taylor Road, Mr. Huggins served as an Assistant Principal in Richmond, Virginia for five years and as a middle school history teacher for 16 years.  He has over 27 years of experience in education.  Mr. Huggins has a Bachelor’s degree in Education from Virginia Union University and a Master’s in Educational Leadership from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia.  He is married and is the proud dad to twin rising seniors in Fulton County Public Schools.  Mr. Huggins is excited to continue working with the administrative team at Taylor Road Middle School and looks forward to working with all stakeholders in the Taylor Road community.   Mr. Huggins can be reached at hugginsr1@fultonschools.org or at (470) 254-8703.   

     

     

     

     

     

     

    Assistant Principal – 7th Grade

    Ms. Martha Patorgis has been a part of FCS for many years and has been an Assistant Principal at River Trail Middle School and Roswell North Elementary School prior to coming to TRMS. She started in the classroom as a special education teacher then moved on to become an Instructional Support Teacher over special education. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama and her Master's Degree at Georgia State University.     Assistant Principal – 8th Grade

    Ms. Denise Haltrecht began her career after earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Early Childhood Education from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. As a native Floridian, she spent 11 years with Broward County Schools where she taught Kindergarten, 1st and 5th grade. She spent 8 years teaching in New York City. During her time in NYC, she taught 2nd and 4th grades as well as ESOL. To continue her yearning for continued education, she earned a Masters in Educational Leadership from Concordia and is currently attending the University of Georgia for additional studies.  

    She has spent the past 10 years with Fulton County Schools. In 2011, when she joined Fulton County Schools, she taught 2nd grade at Esther Jackson Elementary where she remained until she became a Curriculum Support Teacher at Lake Forest Elementary for two years. As a CST, she provided professional development to her staff and supported them as they delivered rigorous literacy lessons. She also presented to the Board on Proficiency Scales.  

    In 2014, she became the Assistant Principal at Dunwoody Springs Elementary. During her leadership her work was centered around Project Based Learning (PBL), creating frameworks for literacy instruction, effective PLC’s and worked to develop strong partnerships with local business partners.  

    She transferred to Crabapple Crossing Elementary in Milton in 2018, where she was able to leverage her expertise in curriculum and closing academic gaps. She built relationships with all stakeholders in the Milton High School feeder pattern and mentored new Assistant Principals in the Northwest Learning Community.  Ms. Haltrecht worked alongside teachers to align instruction and facilitated PLC work. She believes that with positive support and coaching, a great teacher can have a lifelong impact on every student.  Ms. Haltrecht is thrilled to begin the next chapter of her professional journey at Taylor Road Middle School by continuing to support their shared fundamental belief of success for all. She is looking forward to getting to know the TRMS community and meeting the talented students and dedicated professionals, parents and community stakeholders Taylor Road Middle School so amazing!

    Assistant Administrators

    Tamela Richardson Head Shot

     

    Ms. Tamela Richardson is a native of Florida.  She is a graduate of Florida State University with a B.A. in English Education and Walden University with a M.A. in middle grades education.  In 1994, she began her career in education as a 10th grade English and 12th grade remedial reading teacher.  During her time in Florida, she worked in a dropout prevention program, PACE Center for Girls, serving as Lead Teacher, Academic Coordinator and Program Manager.  Ms. Richardson relocated to Atlanta, Georgia in 2002 and began teaching at Sandy Springs Charter Middle School.  Ms. Richardson taught 8th grade reading, ELA, and TAG.  She served as grade level chair, step team sponsor, yearbook sponsor, and Title I coordinator.  She was also recognized and honored as Teacher of the Year for the 2010-2011 and 2013-2014 school years.  In 2014, Ms. Richardson transferred to Taylor Road Middle School. She has taught 7th & 8th grade TAG/ELA.  As a member of FCS Vanguard, she helped to establish TRMS Vanchise in 2018 and currently serves as the school lead.    Ms. Richardson loves music and dance, DIY projects, and serves in the children’s ministry at her church.  Ms. Richardson can by reached at richardsont@fultonschools.org.

     

     

     

    Ms. Leslie Baker

     Ms. Leslie Baker has been a member of the TRMS faculty since 1996. She holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Arizona and master's degree from Emory University. Using her love of mathematics, Ms. Baker is involved in our goal of using data to drive decisions and instruction. Ms. Baker is a retired math teacher and TAG department chair and is currently working part-time as member of the TRMS administrative team. She enjoys being able to provide support to our teachers and families and is proud to be a part of the community. Her children are alumni of Taylor Road Middle School and Chattahoochee High School. Currently her son holds a doctoral degree and is a professor of jazz at Utah Valley University. Her daughter is pursuing a medical degree. When she is not at school, you can find her playing the flute, quilting, or reading a good book. You can reach Ms. Baker at bakerl@fultonschools.org.
