    Greetings Mustang Community!

My name is Ayo Richardson and I have the distinct privilege of serving as the principal of Mountain Park Elementary.  I am excited to welcome you to the 2022-2023 school year as we have much in store for the students, families, and community of Mountain Park.  I am beginning my twenty-first year as an educator and fourth as an elementary principal.  Previously I have served as principal, assistant principal, and teacher.  I am committed to using the experience and skills I bring to Mountain Park to add value to the lives of our students, teachers, and families.

At Mountain Park, we understand the importance of providing opportunities for our students to engage in learning at a high levels, exercise creative problem solving skills, and develop skills to interact with others in positive and meaningful ways. Thus, we provide multiple experiences for all learners to engage in project-based learning and the design thinking process.  Our students have access to robust afterschool programs and opportunities to exercise student leadership. Our PTA provides tremendous support to these initiatives. Please visit our PTA website to learn more about our PTA and how you can join today!

This year at Mountain Park, we are bonded together by the theme This Moment Matters.  We know that we must make the most of each moment we have with our students, taking the opportunity to model, teach, engage and encourage.  We are looking forward to an amazing school year, filled with all of the moments that make elementary school a special place. I look forward to meeting you, working with you, and making each moment matter, together.

    Sincerely,

    Ayo Richardson
