The purpose of the School Governance Council is to provide parents, school staff, and community members with a leadership role in the management of the school. The School Governance Council is a governing body that is representative of the community and the school, but operates under the control and management of the Board of Education. The Council is responsible for making decisions regarding the strategic direction of the school including:
- Approve the school strategic plan and updates
- Approve the annual budget and annual resource allocations
- Manage the Request for Flexibility process
- Participate in hiring the principal (in the case of a vacancy)
- Provide annual feedback on principal performance.
We Want To Hear From You!
Do you have an idea, thought, or comment that you would like to share with Medlock Bridge School Governance Council? Please send your comments to us using the form below! Comments will be shared with the School Governance Council at the monthly meeting. Please do not include student names in comments. When shared, comments may be summarized for time restraints.
We are seeking thoughts and ideas to help improve the school as a whole. If you have an individual concern about your student, please direct that concern to your child's teacher. If you have a concern about a teacher or staff member, please direct those concerns to Matt Vance at firstname.lastname@example.org so they can be addressed. Praise and positive recognition of teachers and staff members will be shared with the person mentioned.
