Purpose: The purpose of the Paul D. West Cheerleading squad is to promote school spirit. The Paul D. West Cheerleaders shall display leadership, unity and positivity while maintaining outstanding academic achievement.
Eligibility: To be eligible to participate in the Paul D. West Cheer Team you must maintain a MINIMUM 2.5 grade point average. To remain eligible, students must maintain a semester average of 70% or higher in all core subjects. Cheerleading Sponsors will check student’s averages each grading period. If an average grade falls below 70%, the student will be placed on academic probation. If the grade average does not return to 70% or above for the second consecutive grading period, the student will be removed from the Cheerleading Team. Students will be required to try out every year.
