Facilities & Maintenance Services

Facilities and Maintenance Services' mission is to provide a safe, comfortable physical learning environment that enhances the instructional experience and all other activities associated with the educational process. We take pride in providing the students, staff and community of Fulton County with high performance facilities that support college and career readiness as well as providing logistical services necessary to achieve the district's strategic goals.

The department strives to make data-driven decisions that support student instruction in a professional, effective and efficient manner using a variety of benchmarks to measure improvement. Facilities and Maintenance Services' collaborates with a variety of utility providers and vendors in the pursuit of efficiency and cost-savings through improved building system design, construction and operations.

Services include maintenance and repair of building systems, providing necessary utilities (including gas, electrical, water, waste services), landscaping maintenance, environmental and hazmat services with additional auxiliary services including warehouse and logistics, property control, textbooks and printing services.

We are comprised of three subdivisions:

  • Auxiliary Services:
    • Warehouse, Textbooks, Printing Operations, & Property Control
  • Facilities Services
    • Environmental Services, Utilities Services, Facilities Projects, Administrative Building Services
  • Maintenance Services
    • North Maintenance, South Maintenance, HVAC Maintenance

FCS District includes occupied facilities at more than 110 locations.

Facilities and Maintenance Services Department has over 170 employees across three major subdivisions.

FCS employees perform the majority of facilities maintenance and equipment installation.

The metro-Atlanta area is third in the nation for the most ENERGY STAR certified buildings. 84% of the Top Energy Star K-12 buildings are located within Fulton County Schools!
