Fulton County Schools receives national recognition for budget and financial report preparation, procurement and communication
The Fulton County School System recently received six national recognitions that acknowledge its efforts to provide the public with comprehensive and user-friendly financial information. In addition, a top leadership official has achieved the specialized Certified Administrator of School Finance and Operations certification.
The awards were given by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA), the Association of School Business Officials International (ASBO) and the National Purchasing Institute (NPI). Each of the organizations used a panel of reviewers to evaluate the school system's financial documents and determined that they served effectively as a policy document, financial plan, operations guide and a communication tool.
"These national awards are a coup for our school system," the school system's deputy chief financial officer. "They demonstrate in a very public way how diligently our finance departments work to exhibit openness and transparency in our district's financial practices."
