About the Thrive Ambassador Program
Overview
The Thrive Ambassador Program is designed to support proactive, student-led safety and wellness programming within Fulton County Schools. By engaging students, educators, and school-based mental health professionals, the program fosters prevention and empowerment at every level. With structured support and resources provided through the Office of Student Supports, Thrive Ambassadors become key players in shaping a culture of school safety and student wellness through the co-creation of sustainable programming that engages and benefits all students.
Program Mission: To cultivate a collaborative and proactive approach to school safety and student well-being by equipping students, teachers, and school-based support staff with tools to foster safe, supportive school environments through leadership development, peer empowerment, and advocacy.
Program Goals
- Empower: Train students and educators to be leaders in school safety and mental health
- Equip: Support school ambassador teams by providing tools and resources to help organize impactful school-wide initiatives and programming
- Engage: Promote school connectedness and positive school climate among all school stakeholders

Student Ambassadors
Eligible Students:
- Currently in grades 8-11
- Will be enrolled in a Fulton County high school during the 2025-2026 school year
- Obtain parent permission to participate in the Thrive Ambassador Program

Ambassador Responsibilities:
- Partner with district leaders and staff ambassadors to implement school safety and wellness campaigns (e.g., bullying prevention, drug prevention, mental health awareness)
- Serve as role models and a trusted resource for connecting peers to student safety and wellness information
- Help develop and organize student engagement materials and activities on relevant topics
- Attend annual Thrive Ambassador leadership training and participate in quarterly virtual consultation meetings
- Training topics include mental health literacy, leadership development, bullying prevention and intervention

Staff Ambassadors
Who Are They?
- High school teachers and support staff (e.g., school psychologist, school social worker, school counselor)
What Do They Do?
- Champion and promote the program by sharing information with school staff, students, and families
- Collaborate with student ambassadors to co-lead school wide activities and awareness campaigns
- Mentor student ambassadors and provide guidance to support student leadership development
- Partner with district leaders and school safety teams to implement strategies effectively
- Attend annual Thrive Ambassador leadership training and participate in quarterly virtual consultation meetings

- How are Thrive Ambassadors selected?
- Application will be reviewed based on leadership potential, commitment to safety and student wellness, and willingness to engage the school community. Upon being selected, Ambassadors will receive a welcome kit and an invitation to attend a summer leadership training workshop.
- What kind of training will Thrive Ambassadors receive?
- Training will be differentiated based on the Ambassador's role. Participants will learn best practices in school safety and student wellness, develop leadership and communication skills, and gain access to materials and resources to support their role.
- How much time is required?
- Ambassadors will have flexible involvement; however, they are expected to attend the initial leadership training and quarterly virtual consultation meetings, lead at least one (1) activity per semester, and collaborate with students and staff to promote safety and wellness.
- What support will Thrive Ambassadors receive?
- Ambassadors will have access to a welcome toolkit with materials to help spread awareness, ongoing mentorship and support from district leaders and staff, and opportunities to collaborate with other Ambassadors.

March - May 2025: Application Submission & Selection

- Applications will be reviewed, and selected ambassadors will be notified via email on May 2, 2025.
June 2025: Ambassador Kickoff & Training
- June 2 - 4: Staff Thrive Ambassador Orientation & Training
- June 4 - 5: Student Thrive Ambassador Orientation & Training
