Bullying Prevention Month

October marks National Bullying Prevention Month, and the Office of Student Supports is committed to fostering safe and respectful learning environments for all students. Bullying—whether verbal, physical, social, or digital—has no place in our schools, and together, we can make a difference.

This month, we are amplifying our efforts to raise awareness and promote prevention through the following initiatives:

Awareness Campaigns

Schools will host activities that highlight the importance of kindness, empathy, and standing up for others. Look out for themed spirit days/weeks, student-led assemblies, and classroom discussions centered on respect and inclusion.

Student Empowerment

We are encouraging students to be Upstanders, not bystanders. Through peer mentoring, leadership opportunities, and social-emotional learning, students will learn how to safely and effectively support their peers.

Reporting & Response

We continue to promote our anonymous reporting tools and encourage students and families to speak up. Every report is taken seriously and addressed with care and urgency.

Materials & Toolkit

Toolkits are attached and will be shared with local OSS staff at schools. In addition all schools will receive posters and banners via interoffice mail to support and get involved.

Let’s work together to build a culture where every student feels safe, valued, and heard. Thank you for your partnership in making Fulton County Schools a place where bullying is not tolerated and kindness is celebrated. As a sign of Unity we ask all FCS Staff and Students to wear BLUE on Monday, October 6th.
