ESOL (English to Speakers of Other Languages)
The English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) program is available to all English learners in Fulton schools who meet the eligibility criteria established by the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE). ESOL classes help students achieve proficiency in essential language skills—speaking, listening, reading, comprehension, and writing— so they can succeed both academically and socially.
Students are immersed in an English-speaking environment and supported by language accommodations provided by all school personnel. Our district’s collaborative approach to language learning is essential to helping students achieve their language development goals.
Benefits of ESOL:
· Improved English language proficiency
· Enhanced academic performance
· Increased confidence and participation
· Cultural and social learning experiences
· Established sense of community and belonging
