Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl Update
The Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl will proceed as scheduled on
Saturday, January 24th at Westlake High School.
FCS HELEN RUFFIN READING BOWL
The Fulton County Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl competition is open to all public, private, and charter schools located in Fulton County, Georgia (except for those physically located in the city of Atlanta). Schools physically located in the city of Atlanta will need to contact the Atlanta Public Schools HRRB representative.
Eligible to compete are:
- Elementary School students in 4th & 5th grades
- Middle School students in 6th - 8th grades
- High School students in 9th - 12th grades.
The reading lists for Elementary and Middle have 10 books each taken from the 2025 -2026 Georgia Children’s Book Award Nominees. The High School reading list is taken from the 2025-2026 Georgia Peach Teen Award Nominees and consists of 20 books.
The Fulton County Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026. This will be an in-person competition.

8:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
ALL SCHOOLS WISHING TO PARTIPATE IN THE FULTON COUNTY HELEN RUFFIN READING BOWL MUST REGISTER ON THIS SITE. REGISTRATION WILL OPEN ON OCTOBER 1ST.
