Fine Arts Pathways & Diploma Seals

Fine Arts Pathways

High School students earn a Fine Arts Pathway by successfully completing three full credits in one of the four Fine Arts areas (Dance, Music, Theatre, Visual Art). Fine Arts Pathways are recognized by the Georgia Department of Education and satisfy one of the requirements for earning the Fine Arts Diploma Seal.

Fine Arts Diploma Seals

The Fine Arts Diploma Seal will be awarded to Fulton County graduating high school students (seniors) who complete the following:

  • Submit a transcript documenting the completion of a Fine Arts Pathway (3 FULL Credits) plus at least one additional fine arts credit
  • Participate in 2 or more arts related extracurricular activities and experiences that foster fine arts mastery
  • Submit documentation of completion of 20 hours of arts related community service
  • Complete a Capstone Project including a written reflection of their experiences

The creative industries are a 32-billion-dollar sector in Georgia’s economy employing more than 200,000 artists, actors, dancers, musicians, and arts administrators. The goal of this seal is to recognize students who are prepared for college and careers in these fine arts related industries.

Earning the Fine Arts Diploma Seal is a signal to employers and higher education institutions that a student is prepared to participate in Georgia’s robust Creative Industries sector.

For more information (including timeline for submission and deadlines), contact the Fine Arts Department Chair at your high school.
