Summer Learning Opportunities

  • girl with book on float in a pool Student Learning Packets

It's summer, it's Georgia and it's too hot or rainy and the kids can't play outside.  What to do?  Siummer packets are here!  Abbotts Hill teachers have created enjoyable summer packets for students.  These activites will help students to continue to learn and review over the summer weeks. Packets created include on-line interactive learning and paper pencil activites.  There is also the annual Summer Reading Challenge from Mrs Dickinson in the Learning Commons.

    Parent Resources

Fulton County has also created resources for parents that provide information and resources for the development and enrichment of essential skills for each grade level. All of these can be found at Summer Learning Opportunities.

Little Free Library

  • male and female by a small lending library

Thanks to Josh Berman, former Jaguar and future Georgia Bulldog, for building a Little Free Library for Abbotts Hill, decorating the gazebo to make it a perfect reading spot, and collecting lots of books to stock the shelves!  Josh has earned the rank of Eagle Scout as a result of his hard work.  Due to the Coronavirus, our Little Free Library is not yet open for business, but hopefully it will be later this year!

All persons interested in volunteering in the Fulton County School District are required to re-register/register (even if a person has completed an application in the past) by completing the new online volunteer registration/application process. The registration process can be found on the FCS District Website under Community/Partners & Volunteers or click on the Volunteer global icon. Applicants should be prepared to spend about 10-15 minutes for the training and application process. In accordance with State Law, all volunteers must be current with the Child Abuse Reporting Protocol Training before being allowed to volunteer in our schools. It is very important that volunteers enter their full legal name as it appears on their government issued ID (please do not use nicknames or “goes by” names on the application). All applicants must wait 24 hours after applying for application processing and approval.
