Greetings!

Welcome to Lake Windward Elementary's website! I hope this site provides helpful information as your child spends his/her elementary years with us. As a mother of two young boys, I understand the need to stay informed and connected regarding the education and growth of your child, and I cannot think of a better place for children to learn and grow. Lake Windward ES is special. I cannot tell you how many times I have had visitors, new parents or staff members tell me that it "just feels different here." I attribute that to our warm, family-like climate and culture where staff and students treat each other with love and respect.

In addition to being a great place for students to grow socially and emotionally, Lake Windward ES has worked hard to ensure our students are learning at high levels. One of our strategic focuses has been on providing an engaging and appropriately challenging environment. Our teachers and students have risen to the occasion and we have seen great success with student growth and achievement!

Lake Windward ES has been recently recognized for the following:
•Platinum Award for Highest Achieving and Silver Award for Greatest Gains from the Governor’s Office of Student Achievement
•School Digger.com has ranked LWE 14th in the state out of over 1,209 schools.
•Lake Windward Elementary School's overall performance is higher than 98% of schools in the state and is higher than the district.
•Students' academic growth is higher than 95% of schools in the state and higher than the district.

I couldn't be more proud of our school. I believe my job is to ensure a learning environment which brings out the best in students both socially and academically. It is my goal that when students leave LWE to become middle school students, they are well prepared for the challenges socially and academically that lie ahead. It is truly an honor to do this work and serve this community!
