Will my child receive a device?

Yes. On the first day of summer learning, all students will be issued a laptop. All laptops must be returned at the end of Summer Learning.

Will my student have to take an EOC?

The state has not waived testing requirements for high school students in American Literature, US History, Biology, and Algebra I. As a result, Fulton County will offer EOC exams for students in these courses. All students taking EOC courses in Summer Learning will take/retake the EOC.

The EOC will count as 20% of the student’s grade. If a parent chooses to refuse testing for their child, he/she will earn a 0% for the EOC (weighted at 20%). To refuse testing, please contact your student’s teacher.

The EOC exams will be given on July 5-7. All students who plan to participate in the exam must adhere to their school’s exam schedule. No EOC tests will be given before or after this exam window.

How will I know when my child has completed Summer Learning?

Students will be released from Summer Learning when all coursework for registered courses has been completed.

When a student completes all coursework from registered courses, the students will receive an official notification from the Summer Learning Administrator or the Summer School Counselor.

Students who complete an EOC course prior to the beginning of EOC testing must return to take the EOC.

Will meals be provided for students?

Yes. All students will be provided breakfast and lunch.
