Requirements for Try-outs and Participation in Sports
A current (good for one year) and valid physical (signed and stamped by a doctor) is required for each student before trying out for a sport. Physicals can be completed at most medical facilities, including pediatricians, doctors, and urgent care clinics. Physical packets must be completely filled out; otherwise, incomplete physical packets will be returned to the student and will prohibit attendance and/or participation at tryouts or games. Please be sure to attach a copy of your child's insurance card. If you do not have medical insurance, student accident insurance is offered through T.W. Lord & Associates. This coverage provides protection against medical expenses resulting from accidental injury to your child. Links to all forms are listed below.

The Dexter Mosley Act
-
During the 2021 legislative session, the Georgia General Assembly passed the Dexter Mosely Act (Senate Bill 42). This legislation authorizes home study students in grades 6-12 to participate in extracurricular and interscholastic activities in the student’s resident public school system, with the requirement of certain notification and course enrollment provisions. The law is codified in O.C.G.A. § 20-2-319.6.
No home school students should attend workouts or practices/competitions until they are fully registered.
The following documents include important information required for home-schooled students to participate in athletic and extracurricular activities in Fulton County schools.
