A former special education teacher and parent leader, Lillie Pozatek represents District 2 on the Fulton County School Board.

At the University of Central Florida, Mrs. Pozatek discovered her interest in education and learning about various teaching methods. She majored in special education earning a bachelor’s degree in specific learning disabilities because she felt it was an area where she could make the most impact.

After teaching at the high school level, Mrs. Pozatek moved to a career in sales for a company focusing on youth programs and schools. Eventually, she progressed to lead a top-performing team and manage a multi-million-dollar budget. When her youngest entered kindergarten, she left the business field to focus on her family and how she could better serve the community.

As a parent, Mrs. Pozatek has volunteered as an athletic coach, was selected as a parent representative to the School Governance Council and has served in leadership roles on parent boards for 12 years. In 2021, she was selected and sworn in as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) working with children in foster care and their families.

These experiences as an educator, parent, volunteer, and business leader complement each other to provide Mrs. Pozatek with the skills necessary to provide fiscal oversight and enact policy as a School Board member. She strongly believes in giving back to the community and has a heart for public service, especially regarding education and children. In her eyes, education is the great equalizer; no matter where a child comes from or their circumstances, a solid education is their ticket to achieving dreams.

Mrs. Pozatek lives in Milton with her husband and two daughters, where they are members of Birmingham United Methodist Church and actively involved in other community activities.
