Georgia Scholar Program

  • ​​Through the Georgia Scholar program, GaDOE identifies and honors high school seniors who have achieved excellence in school and community life. Each Georgia Scholar receives a seal for his or her diploma. . Georgia public or private high school seniors who meet the eight criterion categories may complete the application, provided they are scheduled to graduate in spring 2023 and obtain signatures from their principal, school counselor, and parent or guardian. The 2023 Georgia Scholar Program application is due by 5 p.m. on February 10, 2023. Applicants should be aware that Georgia Scholar is a recognition-only program. No scholarship funds are associated with this program.

United States Presidential Scholar

  • The U.S. Presidential ​Scholars Program from the U.S. Department of Education was established in 1964 by the executive order of the President to recognize and honor some of our nation's most distinguished graduating high school seniors. The 2022-2023 U.S. Presidential Scholar nomination/application form is available on the Georgia Department of Education website and is due November 15, 2022. Any Georgia high school student may complete the application, provided they are scheduled to graduate between January 2023 and August 2023 and obtain signatures from their principal and school counselor. See your counselor by November 9. 2022, to get signatures.
