AP & Honors Course Waiver Form

  • Core course recommendations are made by teachers. Course recommendations are made by teacher’s professional judgement, first semester grades and the Fulton County minimum course placement guidelines.

    Please read the online curriculum guide to gain an understanding of which courses are most appropriate. Students can speak with their teachers about academic placements for the 2022–2023 school year.  This is the time to ask questions and to choose classes.

    FAVE will allow students to waive into a maximum of two (2) Honors and/or AP classes. Waiver Requests may only be submitted after parents have reviewed our first round of course recommendations.

    Please understand that because of scheduling logistics, faculty allotments, and student commitment to the course for which you waiver into, this placement will be final and will not change after the course starts.

    Waivers will only be needed if your teacher did not recommend you for a AP/Honors Course.

    Waivers must be submitted to their student’s counselor by April 1st.

    Form Submission Process

    1. Print a paper copy of the Course Waiver Form found below.
    2. Students and parents will sign the completed Course Waiver Form
    3. Students will complete this electronic waiver form. Students will need to load a picture of the finalized paper waiver form.
    4. Answer all the questions listed and submit the form. Be sure to send a copy of response to your e-mail for your records.
    5. Your counselor of record will reach out to you once your request has been processed.
