Dr. Marcus Vu

Dr. Marcus Vu has been an educator innovating in online learning since 2013. Having previously worked at Florida Virtual School, Dr. Vu has worked both as an online teacher and a subject matter expert for World Languages helping the curriculum team maintaining existing courses and developing courses for credit recovery and critical thinking.

In addition, he was awarded School House teacher of the year in 2015 for developing practices implementing a support culture to help struggling online students. In 2017, Dr. Vu became Program Special for Virtual Learning in Fulton County Schools. In this role, he streamlined curriculum development and evaluation practices. Most notably, Dr. Vu lead the implementation of effective practices to improve online learning results. Through this work, Dr. Vu has helped to increase enrollment, completion rates, and pass rates in online courses, for which Fulton County Schools recognized him as a Difference Maker – Student Achievement.

 In 2019, Dr. Vu began serving as the coordinator for virtual learning leading Fulton Virtual through the program’s continued growth in serving students throughout the district. In addition to managing Fulton Virtual, Dr. Vu continues to present nationally on topics that include online instructional practices, program management, and simultaneous instruction. His previous presentation engagements include iNACOL Symposium (2018), Digital Learning Annual Conference (2019), and ISTE Summer Learning Academy (2020). Dr. Vu holds a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Liberal Studies from Rollins College and an Education Doctorate from the University of Central Florida.
