CLASS OF 2027 (RISING 9TH)
Waiver Information
We have modified our waiver process for the 2023-2024 school year. We have seen an increase in stress and anxiety as well as a decline in student performance because of an overloaded schedule with difficult classes. Our goal with this new process is to ensure parents and students are fully aware of the expectations of the course they want to take on as well as the reasons the current teacher did not recommend a student for a specific course.
We encourage students to push themselves and take the most rigorous courses they can, but we also realize our students’ health is also important. We encourage parents and students to carefully weigh the options and only waive into courses they are confident they can handle. We STRONGLY urge parents to carefully consider the concerns of the faculty and the totality of the student’s workload.
Waiver Form Process:
- Print a paper copy of the waiver form. You can also pick-up a copy at the counseling office.
- Conference with the current teacher of the subject that you wish to waive up or down for.
- Conference with the future teacher of the subject that you wish to waive up or down for.
- Students and parents sign the completed paper waiver form.
- Students will log into the Microsoft Office portal to complete the electronic waiver form. Students will need to load a picture of the finalized paper waiver form.
- Answer all the questions listed and submit the form. Be sure to send a copy of your response to your e-mail for your records.
- Your counselor of record will reach out to you once your request has been processed.
