Virtual College Visits
Who can attend?
Juniors and seniors can attend virtual meetings with college representatives during the school day. Students can sign up by logging into Naviance through Classlink and selecting the college visits they are interested in attending. All visits will be visible on the student's Naviance dashboard.
How to sign up
To attend a college session, students must sign up 24 hours in advance of a visit date and obtain teacher approval for any missed classes. Students will use the sign-up confirmation from Naviance as their pass to leave class. Students may listen to the presentation in the Media Center using a device or phone and headphones or earbuds.
If you have questions or issues accessing a session, contact Ms. Thimsen in the Bridge West office for assistance.
College Tour Series
The College Tour Series provides a number of free classes to help students learn about and navigate their higher education journey. Each class is video-based, using segments from The College Tour TV series. As told by current students, the classes are free and take approximately 30-45 minutes to complete. The classes include:
The College Tour's 'Core' Class - walk through the four pillars for finding the right college: Location, Campus Culture, College Type, and Majors.
First Generation Students Class - covers many of the key components in the 'Core' class, but with a focus on first-generation students.
International Students Class - created for international students, this class reviews the many resources available to help students navigate their college search in the USA.
College Majors Class - discusses the vast areas of study at colleges and universities across the country. This is a great class to learn about college majors and potential careers in which students may be.
