Continuous Achievement Parent Meeting

Join us on Jan. 14th at 4:00 PM
On Thursday , January 14th, our Curriculum Support Teacher , Mrs. Howard, will host a Continuous Achievement Parent Meeting.
This meeting will provide parents with an opportunity to ask questions about their child’s academic placement and get information about ways to challenge students outside of school. We hope you will be able to join us on Microsoft Teams for this informative meeting.

Face to Face – begins Oct 14 for full-time in-person instruction
This is a voluntary opportunity for all students in PreK-5 (pre-kindergarten through fifth grade) to receive five days of face to face instruction.
Students who choose to continue with Universal Remote Learning will continue to participate in online instruction via the Microsoft Teams application.

Our students will follow a daily schedule that will structure their day with instruction in Language Arts, Math , Science/Social Studies and Special Area classes.

Laptop Distribution for Grades 2-5
Students in grades 2 - 5 are eligible to check out a Dell laptop for remote learning.
Any students in grades 2 - 5 who did not receive a device for the spring session of remote learning can receive a device.

School Supply Lists
Students returning to school face to face are encouraged to bring their school supplies to school.
Palmetto will provide plastic storage bags to hold each individual child's supplies.
Our goal is for all of our students to have personal supplies to keep our Eagles germ free!

Virtual PBIS

Technology Tips
Microsoft Office 365
Classroom instruction during remote learning will be done on Microsoft Teams. To access Teams , students will log into ClassLink. Then they will access the Office 365 app. The Teams app is located here.
If this is your child's frst time to log into Teams, they may be prompted to sign in with their email and password. Every student in Fulton County has an email account.
A student’s email address is ID#@fcstu.org (Example: 1234567891@fcstu.org). The student ID is your Fulton lunch number. The password is the student's birthday . The format is MM/DD/YY

Infinite Campus
The Infinite Campus portals - Campus Parent and Campus Student - provide access to information for all enrolled students in their household. Information includes grades, attendance, assignments, and school announcements.
All parents will need to register the first time they access their account.

i-Ready Reading and Math Guide
FCSTV Video Lessons
FCSTV video lessons will premiere on August 18th and each Tuesday and Thursday thereafter! Families of students in PreK though Second Grade can see the lessons on Comcast 24, Google Fiber TV Channel 145 and AT&T Chanel 99 (residents of Fulton County), or visit www.fultonschools.org/fcstv to see the programs from any device with internet access. 'Tis the Season to be Reading!
On Friday, December 4th, a reading initiative entitled The 12 Days of Reading will begin. All students are asked to read at least 15 minutes each night . The students will have a recording sheet on which their parent or guardian will sign for each 15 minute reading session completed. All completed log sheets must be turned into Mrs. Sickler by December 16th. All students who participate will receive a festive jingle bell bracelet. All students who complete the form will also have their name entered into a book give away!
There will be one Pre K - Grade 2 and one Grade 3- 5 winner! The two winners will get to choose a book from a list of topselling authors to add to their personal home library!

Palmetto Curbside Meal Pickup
Beginning September 23rd, Palmetto will provide curbside meal pick-ups every Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. in the carrider lane.
- Curbside Pick-Up provides an opportunity for families to drive-thru and pick up FREE grab & go meal kits for all children 18 & under.
- Children do not have to be present to receive a FREE meal kit.
- A student’s ID Number is not needed to receive a FREE grab & go meal kit.
- To maximize social distancing, drivers are not to leave their vehicles; however, walk-ups are allowed.
Each grab & go meal kit will contain 10 meals - 5 breakfasts and 5 lunches - to feed students until the next meal kit distribution. The grab & go meal kits contain a variety of kid-friendly choices such as whole-grain rich breakfast cereals, 100% fruit juice, assorted fresh fruits and vegetables, and low-fat milk! All meal kits will also include items that can be reheated at home such as whole-grain rich grilled cheese sandwiches or French toast sticks. Meal safety, reheating instructions, and a menu are provided in meal kits.
Please fill out this form each week to secure your child’s FREE grab & go meal kit. We ask that non-FCS students also complete our pre-order form to help us with forecasting orders. All Pre-order forms must be placed by Tuesday at 11:59 p.m.

Mobile Food Stop to Begin!
Starting on September 9th, school buses will deliver meals to Palmetto Preserve Apartments from 10:45am-12:00pm.
These deliveries will occur every Wednesday until further notice.

Get Connected with ClassDoJo!
Palmetto Elementary will use the mobile app ClassDojo for home and school communicatiom.
More information will be given by classroom teachers to help parents connect to their child's classroom!

The next meeting for Palmetto's School Governance Council will take place on Monday, January 25th at 2:45 pm on Microsoft Teams. This meeting does not provide time for public comment.
