Mrs. Amy Robinson

Mrs. Amy Robinson serves as the 6th Grade Assistant Principal at Woodland Middle School.

Mrs. Amy Williams has served Fulton County Schools for seven years, with five of these years being at Woodland Middle School. Before entering education, Mrs. Robinson served for the United States Armed Forces for over ten years. Mrs. Robinson earned her bachelor’s degree in Middle Grades Education from Clayton State University, her master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Valdosta State University, and she is pursuing a doctoral degree in Curriculum and Instruction at Columbus State University. 

Mrs. Robinson has experienced the realm of education from many lenses, to include English-Language Arts teacher, English-Language Arts Department Chair, Grade Level Chair, Multi-Classroom Leader, and School Improvement Coach. Many of her roles have positively impacted the Woodland family, as her role in creating and implementing the intervention block contributed to a significant increase in student growth and achievement. Her work helped Woodland Middle School overcome its placement on the state’s turnaround list.  

Her commitment to student success, the education field, and the community is evident, as she was awarded Professional of the Year at McNair Middle School in 2021. Mrs. Robinson is a climate and culture champion, whose work with social-emotional learning has positively impacted the lives of students.

Mrs. Robinson is an advocate for students, and she believes that all students can achieve at high levels. She is committed to building positive relationships amongst all stakeholders, building a culture of data driven practice, and establishing a foundation for student achievement and continuous growth. 

Mrs. Robinson is happy to reunite with the Woodland Family, as its newest Assistant Principal.

Ms. Latoya Baker

Ms. Baker is the 7th Grade Assistant Principal

Ms. Baker is a native of Metro Atlanta and graduated from Xavier University of Louisiana with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. Continuing her educational career, she attended Georgia State University, where she earned a Master of Arts in Teaching and Valdosta State University, where she obtained her Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership. In addition to the above, Ms. Baker has her gifted and Tier II leadership.

This year will serve as her eleventh year as an educator, all of which have been in the Fulton County School System. She began her time as a Science educator at Bear Creek Middle School, where she also served as the seventh-grade level chair. After 4 years, she decided to try something different and switched to teaching math via the Teach to One model. After 5 successful years at Bear Creek, Ms. Baker decided to further her career at Sandtown Middle School. While at Sandtown, Ms. Baker taught math and served as the Instructional Math Coach. In this role, she worked with teachers to improve classroom management and climate through the implementation of effective instructional methods and provide high-quality instructional and cultural coaching with frequently scheduled teacher observations, actionable feedback, and accountability for adjustment in practice. She is a two-time teacher of the year who feels as much as she tried to runaway from a career in education, she can confidently say that education chose her.

Through education, she is getting to live out her passion of ensuring all students are given the opportunity to obtain the academic and social skills necessary to be successful in this ever-changing global society. I recognize preparing students for the challenges of the 21st Century is no small task; however, she brings experience in the below:

· Planning professional development for teachers

· Leading the planning and goal setting for the individual teachers

· Working alongside the Assistant Principal to reinforce school reforms, expectations, and procedures.

· Proactively engaging family and community in supporting student success

Mrs. Dionne Young

 

Mrs. Dionne Young serves as is the 8th Grade Assistant Principal at Woodland Middle School.

Dionne Young brings an array of pedagogical experience and forward-thinking leadership skills. She is passionate in serving as a catalyst for students and instructors as they become critical thinkers and innovators within our growing society. While serving in the capacity of an Assistant Principal, she successfully models and implements effective systems that have a positive impact on behavior and student performance.  Additionally, she coordinates and monitors professional learning community sessions, during which she offers instructional comprehension strategies, models differentiated lessons, and motivates her colleagues to integrate 21st century technology in the classroom.  Mrs. Young also serves as a mentor to rising educators and leaders, providing support for classroom management, behavioral strategies, RTI interventions, and professional development.

With the rise of each day, Dionne is dedicated to serving as a guide for our current and next generation of leaders in the education system. She is committed to always remembering her experience in the classroom while working towards accomplishing county goals.

Mrs. Kristen Anderson

Mrs. Kristen Anderson serves as the 6th grade Instructional Dean at Woodland Middle School.

This is Mrs. Kristen Anderson’s second year at Woodland Middle School, and is no stranger to Fulton County Schools. Mrs. Anderson matriculated through Fulton County Schools during grades K-12, graduated from Westlake High School and has all education experience, prior to Woodland, from Sandtown Middle School. Some of her previous experiences include Science teacher, Science Department Chair, New Teacher Coordinator, and Professional Learning Facilitator. Before transferring from Sandtown to Woodland, Mrs. Anderson was named Professional of the Year.

Mrs. Anderson is enthusiastic about exposing students to different ideas, experiences, and possibilities. Though education was not her initial pathway, she knew all roads would lead to education at some point in her life. Her college journey allowed her to explore realms and areas that she did not know existed, and there is when she discovered she wanted to be an advocate for students and their future goals and dreams. Mrs. Anderson believes that learning environment should be a safe and enjoyable experience for students to learn and grow, and educators to support and teach.

Mrs. Anderson graduated from Fort Valley State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and soon became certified to teach Middle Grades Math and 6-12 grades Science. Her education journey continued by attaining certification to teach Gifted classes and instructionally coach. Mrs. Anderson received her wings at Kennesaw State University by obtaining her Master of Education degree in Educational Leadership, followed by her Education Specialist degree in Instructional Technology.

Mrs. Kristen Anderson is excited about being a Woodland Wolverine and looking forward to working with the Woodland community.

Ms. LaTonya Kelsey

Ms. LaTonya Kelsey serves as 7th Grade Instructional Dean at Woodland Middle School.

With a progressive career in public education, Ms. Kelsey comes to Woodland Middle after being at Randolph Elementary since joining Fulton County Schools four years ago. While there, Ms. Kelsey has served as Grade Level Chair, Principal’s Advisory Committee Chair, International Baccalaureate Committee and Professional Development Coordinator, and New Teacher Orientation Facilitator. Additional professional work experiences include being a Lead Teacher, Instructional Coach, Professional Development Liaison and Facilitator, Class Advisor, Activities & Athletic Director, and AdvancEd School Accreditation Facilitator. Ms. Kelsey has been the recognized by Miami-Dade County Public Schools as being a “Beyond the Bell” educator. Additionally, she has been recognized as going above and beyond by spearheading school initiatives.

Ms. Kelsey is passionate about public education and advocates for scholars having a champion who will instill positive values through unwavering support. Her communication skills combined with the ability to deeply connect people are just some of her many skills that make her a fit for any organization. She takes a special interest in data analysis and bridging the gap between student achievement and instruction.   

Ms. Kelsey graduated from Florida Atlantic University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology with a concentration in English Education followed by earning a master’s degree in Reading Education and Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University. Holding certifications in Elementary Education, Reading Education, Middle Grades English, and an ESOL Endorsement, Ms. Kelsey has taught all grade levels K-12.

Ms. Kelsey’s achievements are attributed to her ability to identify innovative areas of improvement, execute projects, and optimize ever-changing organizational needs. Recognized as an exceptional leader and motivated professional, she strives to continuously deliver results beyond expectations. Eager to join the Woodland family, Ms. Kelsey anticipates how phenomenal #thegrowthexperience will be.

Ms. Norminicka Clare

Ms. Norminicka Clare serves as the 8th Grade Instructional Dean, PBIS coach, and AVID Coordinator at Woodland Middle School. 

Ms. Clare is a native of Miami, Florida where she was a student in the Miami Dade County Public School system. Her passion for education stems from the positive influences of dedicated educators who devoted their craft to her success as a student. Ms. Clare received her Bachelor of Science degree in English Education with a minor in ESOL and Reading Education from Florida Memorial University. She then attained a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Barry University and most recently completed a Master of Arts in Reading Education from the University of South Florida. 

No stranger to education, Ms. Clare brings with her a 13-year experience in education to include the role of a classroom teacher, Transformational Literacy instructional Coach, District Strategic Planning Facilitator, Novice Teacher/ Coach mentor and Adult Education support coach. Ms. Clare is passionate, hardworking, and dedicated to creating lifelong learners within every child.  Her mission is having every student she encounters become productive, interdependent citizens of society. She strongly believes that all students have the ability to learn and that it is her job as an educator to find the right path that will allow students to become their own version of success.  

Ms. Clare demonstrates a niche for positively improving school climate and culture, supporting school-wide instructional systems, and improving student achievement.
