Welcome Back To School Procedures - 7th Grade
These procedures apply only to returning RCMS 7th grade students.
For procedures in another language, please click the "Translate Language" link at the top right of this page.If your student is new to RCMS, new student registration is required.

1 - WELCOME FROM YOUR PRINCIPAL

2 - ATTEND PANTHER PEEK ON THURSDAY, AUGUST 3rd at 12:00
From 12:00-1:30, join us at RCMS for Panther Peek - Your Sneak Peek into:
- Visiting your Homeroom Teacher's class where you report each morning of the school year between 8:30 and 8:45 for morning work.
- Watch an introductory video from your 7th grade administrator and counselor.
- Receive your class schedule, find your classes, and meet your teachers.
- Receive support with back-to-school forms and details.
- Have opportunities to purchase or pick up spirit wear and PE uniform (if applicable).
You'll get all the details you'll need to be ready for the first day of school on Monday, August 7th.
We ask that parents only and your RCMS student(s) attends this event so that we are able to limit the number of visitors in our building. Please assist us in asking grandparents, younger/older siblings, or family friends to hear about the excitement once you get home!

3 - PTA MEMBERSHIP & VOLUNTEERING
All families are requested to support RCMS via PTA Membership and donation; PTA is one of three primary ways for parents to be involved in volunteering and supporting the school's important work. Please click the appropriate link to read the Welcome Letter and Membership Information.

4 - FOUNDATION MEMBERSHIP & VOLUNTEERING
All families are asked to consider a support level for the RCMS Foundation, and Foundation is one of three primary ways for parents to be involved in volunteering and supporting the school's important work.

5 - BUS INFORMATION
Click HERE for the WebQuery Fulton County Schools Transportation page. You'll enter your address and information to identify your student's bus number, bus stop location, and pick-up / drop-off times.
Please download the Here Comes the Bus application so that you can track and monitor your child's bus on its route throughout the year.

6 - CARPOOL INFORMATION
Student drop off is from 8:30-8:45 a.m. Student pick-up is from 4:05-4:20p.m.
Carpool is located on the opposite end of the school from the front office, along South Trimble Road.
At afternoon pick-up please help by following these procedures:
- Students simply look for their own car when it arrives.
- Cars are asked to form a line behind the school toward the access road (w/ speed humps) or along S. Trimble Road as illustrated.
Students are not to be dropped off at the front office unless arriving tardy after 8:45.

7 - IMMUNIZATION REQUIREMENTS
Effective July 1, 2014, all 7th grade students will be required to have: 1) One dose of Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis) Vaccine, and 2) One dose of Meningococcal Conjugate Vaccine.
For your 7th grader, please read this descriptor about these requirements and the documentation the school will audit for your 7th grader this fall.

8 - PROOF OF RESIDENCY
All 6th and 7th grade students must complete this Proof of Residence attaching copies of the two required documents, and submit the three documents (cover sheet, two copies of residency documents) to your student's Homeroom Teacher (4th period) by August 11th.

9 - CHANGE OF HOUSEHOLD INFORMATION
If information related to your student has changed such as contact phone numbers or e-mails, emergency contacts, and more please see below to make required updates.
It is critical that we have a current parent e-mail on file for every student.
Login to Parent Campus (Infinite Campus) and use these instructions (click HERE) to quickly make updates. You can also set up your account for first-time users.
If you are unable to make changes online, a form will be available in our front office (a parent I.D. is necessary).

10 - PAY SCHOOL FEES ONLINE
Fees are paid online using a credit or debit card. Students will need a PE uniform (can be purchased later after families see schedules). A yearbook is an optional purchase. A locker is an optional purchase (students can carry backpacks). You'll receive an e-mail confirmation of payment(s) for your records.

11 - SPIRIT WEAR/SCHOOL UNIFORM OPTIONS
School uniform options are available for purchase at http://ptarcms.org now.
The online spirit wear store is now open for pre-orders. Orders will be taken throughout the summer. You will have the following options to pick-up your spirit wear:
- Wednesday, July 26th (order by July 24th)
- Monday, July 31st (order by July 30th)
- Panther Peek on August 3rd at your grade's time (order by 8/1)
- Spirit wear store the first week of school from 8:30-8:50
School uniform options will be for sale in-person at Panther Peek.
The Spirit Wear store will be open the first week of school each morning from 8:30-8:55 and then each Tuesday and Thursday from 8:30-8:55.

12 - SCHOOL MEALS INFO
School meals are offered daily for a fee. All families may qualify for free- or reduced-price meals but must complete the annual application to be eligible to receive meal benefits.
Fulton County receives funding from a variety of federal grants based on the number of children in the district that qualify for free or reduced priced meals regardless if families choose to participate in the meal program.

MS Breakfast: $1.25 (reduced: $0.30)
MS Lunch: $2.70 (reduced: $0.40)Add funds to your student's general meal account through My Payments Plus.

13 - STUDENT SCHEDULES
At Panther Peek, alphabetic student lists by grade level will assist two parents and one student in finding their Homeroom Teacher's class. During this part of Panther Peek you will receive your class schedule.
All students will receive another copy of their class schedule on the first day of school by reporting to their Homeroom Teacher's classroom from 8:30-8:50.

14 - SCHOOL WIDE SUPPLY LIST
Click HERE for the RCMS supply list that will satisfy general requirements; however, each teacher may have specific needs above and beyond this list that will be communicated at the start of the school year. As an additional consideration, note that lockers will be optional and backpacks are permitted.

15 - ATHLETICS & EXTRA-CURRICULARS
Our athletics offerings receive generous support from our RCMS Foundation! Please join, and if your student wishes to consider a fall, winter, or spring sport then please be sure they are ready by:
Having their sports physical (required on Fulton County Schools Form) completed. Fall sports physicals are due August 8th. Click HERE for the fall sports packet.
