2022 - 2023 Device Distribution

  • The following message was sent to parents on August 11th:

    Hello Innovation Academy families,

Happy first week of school! We hope your first week at IA has been wonderful! As we move into next week, we want to offer our sincere thank you for your patience as we work with the district to coordinate our device deployment for this school year.

As you may have heard, the district has encountered supply chain issues with devices for many of our middle and high schools, including our new IA devices. At the time of this email, we do have the majority of devices needed for our students. With that being said, I believe in honesty and transparency. We do not currently have a computer for each student. We are asking if your student is able and willing to use a personal device that they do so until our shipment of new IA devices arrives.

If your student does need and want to use a school-issued device, we are deploying devices during the following times in Mission Control:

    • Thursday, August 11th during lunches – 11th Grade
    • Friday, August 12th during virtual classes – 10th Grade
    • Monday, August 15th during virtual classes – 9th Grade

If your student has yet to return a device used for summer course work, it is imperative that it is returned as soon as possible.

Again, thank you for your patience and understanding as we make sure that each student at IA has a personalized learning device. If you have any questions, please contact me at bongiornom@fultonschools.org.

    Sincerely,

    Martha Bongiorno, Device Coordinator

2022 - 2023 Device Information

Students Without a Fulton County Device

  • Devices will be distributed on a rolling schedule throughout August based on grade levels.

Students Who Opt Out of a Fulton County Device for a Personal Device

  • Students who wish to use their personal device do not need to receive a Fulton County device.

Innovation Academy uses Microsoft products, so please make sure your device has access to Word, Teams, OneNote, OneDrive, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. You also can download Microsoft 365 for free onto your personal device. Click here for more information. The Fulton County website has more specifics if you want to ensure your device is appropriate.

If you currently have a Fulton County device but want to use a personal device, please return the device and charger to Innovation Academy at your earliest convenience.

2022 - 2023 Device Fees & User Agreement

  • Students are allowed to carry their backpacks/bookbags. If they also want to have their laptop in that bag, they should either have a bag that is designed to hold a laptop, or they should use a padded sleeve to help protect the laptop from pressure damage or cracked screens and a resulting FCS device fine.

Missing or damaged device items may be paid on OSP (there is a small service charge for using the Online School Payment System). We do not accept cash or checks in the library media center.

Fines for Device Damage, Loss, or Theft:

    • Lost/Stolen: $250
    • Damaged: $100 (examples: pressure damage, cracked screen)
    • Lost/Damaged Accessories (charger, stylus...): $30
