STEM in Fulton

  • STEM Logo

The STEM programs in Fulton County Schools promote the development of student knowledge and abilities to apply STEM principles and problem-solving in both academic and real-world settings. STEM refers to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. These areas have been identified as key for economic growth and development and also are important life skills. The Georgia Standards of Excellence in mathematics and science provide the basis for student expectations in these disciplines. There is a strong emphasis on disciplinary practices and “doing” to support concrete learners in the mastery of skills, concepts, and applications both instructionally and in assessment. Interdisciplinary and relevant connections combined with technology and engineering skills and approaches are embedded within instruction to complete students' preparation and understanding of the importance of STEM in today's world.
