The Fulton County School System is widely disseminating information about a proposed settlement ("Agreement") reached between the plaintiffs and the Fulton County Board of Education to be released from a long-running school desegregation case, Hightower v. West.
A fairness hearing has been scheduled for May 29, 2003 , at 10 a.m. in Courtroom 2307 of the United States Courthouse, 75 Spring Street, SW., Atlanta , Georgia 30303. Members of the public will have the opportunity to comment on the proposed settlement. Comments must be submitted to the court by May 16, 2003, as directed in the "Notice" of the Proposed Agreement.
Notice of the Proposed Agreement and the Agreement are available for review on the school system's website, www.fulton.k12.ga.us , and in the office of all schools and administrative buildings.
