How To Be a Successful Sixth Grader:Lesson 1: Always try to remember your locker combination. If you forget, don’t sweat it. Your teacher will have your combination. Never rig your locker. If you do, people can come by and open it and steal your stuff.Lesson: 2 Listen to the announcements. Okay, I know what you’re thinking. Announcements are BORING! Well, sometimes they are, but, a lot of times they can have useful information.Lesson 3: Always use your agenda. Write down all of your assignments and everything else that you don’t want to forget. Your agenda is also your hall pass, so, as our principal Mrs. Reeves says, “where the body goes, the agenda goes.”Lesson 4: Try to be on time for your classes. In some classes, if you have too many tardies, you will get a detention. If you are held up in another class, ask the teacher for a late pass.Lesson 5: Always remember your homework. If you don’t, some teachers won’t accept late homework, and you will get a 0% on the assignment. Need help with your homework? Call the Homework Hotline at (404) 843-7700Lesson 6: Always study for a quiz or test. In some classes, quizzes and tests make up 50% if your grade. If you do bad, it can really send your average to the doghouse.Lesson 7: Behave in the cafeteria! If you are doing something that you’re not supposed to, you could get silent lunch.Lesson 8: Remember when your library books are due. The Media Center charges you every day your book is late.Lesson 9: How NOT to get a detention…..Always try to be on time, carry your agenda and do your homework..Lesson 10: Get involved. There are many opportunities to choose from so find out what is available and choose what you like. The more activities you do, the more fun you’ll have.Congratulations!
