River Trail Middle School Chamber Orchestra

The River Trail Middle School Chamber Orchestra was formed in 2002, one year after the opening of River Trail Middle School. The Chamber Orchestra is open only to 7th and 8th grade orchestra students by audition.

The Chamber Orchestra has earned consistently, Superior Ratings at the Georgia Music Educators Association Performance Evaluation. The Chamber Orchestra also performs throughout the community at events such as elementary concerts and holiday concerts at Northside Hospital’s Celebration of Lights Festival, Atlanta City Hall, and the City of John’s Creek Founder’s Day Celebration. In addition, the Chamber Orchestra performed at the Georgia Governor's Mansion in winter of 2008.

In 2003, the Chamber Orchestra was invited to perform at the National Middle School Association Convention and in 2006, was invited to perform at American String Teachers Association National Orchestra Festival in Kansas City, Missouri. In 2008, the Chamber Orchestra performed at the Georgia Music Educators Association Convention. The Chamber Orchestra was also named the winner of the Southern Star Sweepstakes in the Orchestra Competition Division in 2007, 2008, and 2009 which included orchestras in both middle school and high school.
