    HONOR ORCHESTRA AUDITION INFORMATION

                                     Information

      Audition Date:  Monday, November 2, 2009 at Centennial High School

 

                                     Event Date:  November 9 - 10, 2009

                                             Place:  (Johns Creek High School)

 

            ** There will be a $5 application fee (per student). 

 

AUDITIONS:

All students will be auditioned for participation and placement.  Auditions will be held on

 Monday, November 2, 2009 at Centennial High School from 4:30pm- 7:00pm.  

·        The auditions will be on first-come, first-served basis. However, the students must be
 pre-registered at their local schools to audition.

 

Students are encouraged to carefully observe the “audition sheet” so that they understand

how their performances are assessed.  All seating is final.  

 

This year, the Honor Event will take place on Monday, November 9 (7pm-9pm) and

Tuesday, November 10 (rehearsals -10:00am- 4:30pm; Concert at 7pm) at Johns Creek High School.

 

STRING auditions will consist of three parts:

    (Please study the attached audition sheet)

 

1.     SCALES and ARPEGGIOS: 

             Violins:  G Major and A Major, three (3) octaves

             Violas:   C Major and D Major, three (3) octaves

             Cellos:   C Major and D Major, three (3) octaves
               Bass:    F Major and G Major, two (2) octaves

 

2.      SIGHT READING (one selection)

 

3.          EXCERPTS – Violin
