Responsibility

The Northview High School Orchestra Program encourages discipline through the responsibility of student leadership. This concept works effectively for many outstanding instrumental programs throughout the nation. However, like any form of organization, it does not work perfectly. With that thought in mind, and realizing that nobody is perfect all of the time, the following criteria has been established to create a consistent set of expectations.

Orchestra Officer Expectations

1. Orchestra Officers should be outstanding in attitude, cooperation, service, leadership, musicianship, and the ability to get along with others. Orchestra Leadership should be the standard by which we measure each and every Orchestra member.

2. Anyone accepting an office or leadership role must remain in the Orchestra for the entire year.

NO EXCEPTIONS.

3. All leadership must keep their schedules clear to meet at 8:00 a.m. weekly.

4. Orchestra leadership should NEVER behave in such a way as to be assigned teacher detention, ISS, or OSS . Any occurrence will be reviewed by the Director and/or Principal.

5. Eligibility for any leadership position shall be determined by completion of the Orchestra Leadership Packet turned in by the stated deadline each year. All qualifications are outlined in the packet.

6. Failure to comply with any of the aforementioned may result in removal from office or position.

7. All elected officers shall be voted on by the Orchestra and approved by the Director.
