Introduction To Students And Parents

Congratulations...

You have made the decision to either continue or join us as a member of the Northview High School Orchestra Program. We welcome you! We are excited to continue the process of establishing a reputation of which our community can be proud. Our program has been recognized for excellence at the local and state levels, and also has developed a reputation of excellence at the national level with an invitation and performance at the Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic in Chicago in 2004. We have been invited to perform for the Midwest Clinic again in December 0f 2010. In 2006, our program achieved international recognition with its invitation to perform for the 250 th Celebration of Mozart in Austria . The tradition of excellence that has been established in the Orchestra Program at Northview H.S. can only be achieved through each student's focus on the highest ideals of musical, community, and personal accomplishment. We are glad that you are with us this year.

The study of instrumental music was included in the school curriculum not primarily to create professional musicians, but to provide students with an arts experience in music. Aside from the apparent values of participation in instrumental music instruction - artistic expression and performing competence - other important objectives for which we endeavor are; character building, cooperation, loyalty, respect, dependability, responsibility, punctuality, and self discipline.

Welcome to the Northview High School Orchestra Program. I look forward to an outstanding future filled with new ideas, musical triumphs, and personal successes. Make music for life!

Tim Aucoin

Orchestra Director
